How much of your life is spent trying to get your emails answered in a timely fashion? Probably a lot. Most of the emails I send out get answered and quickly. The reason has to do with getting them opened. That’s right, it’s hard to get an email answered that isn’t opened.

People open emails if they think that the email will be a quick transaction, something that they can take off their to-do list and if they trust that the person sending the email super electronic cigarette won’t waste their time.

Your Re: line is the first step. Here are some subject lines that get answered most often for me. Write them as I have and see if you don’t get faster responses.
  • A quick question for you
  • Need your opinion
  • This made me think of you
  • A fast detail to get nailed down
  • I need you to be my coin-flip

Clearly these subject lines imply speed, personal connection and generate a little bit of curiosity. That’s what gets them opened.
